Late tomorrow I head out for round one of the 2023 Idaho archery elk hunt. Hunt through Tuesday or so then back for last 9 days of September if needed.
Plan A is to get off my arse and backpack into some spots 2-4 miles from the road which could prove a lilpainful memorable in the end if tag a bull way back in. We shall see. Expecting little cell cover so updates not likely to be 'semi live'.
Looking forward to a fun solo adventure for this one. Not sure what to expect other than a ton of elk and (unfortunately) a ton of hunting pressure.
This is not a ‘trophy’ type of hunt, expect a lot of average and smaller bulls and for this hunt not planning to be picky, especially my first time hunting this area.
