Keeping A Secret....

Two days before season opener i went in solo to the same previous area.
Suckers vanished.
Night before opener at 5 minutes to dark thirty I spied some good rams on a ridge that was reachable for the first actual hunting morning.
Alas, I woke up to glass and nothing. Then glassing in to the sun. Then smoke rolled in.
I wandered for the morning muttering about seeing all those rams in my lap.20210915_133011.jpg20210915_114424.jpg20210916_071506.jpg

Decided to sneak in to this mini basin beneath where I saw the rams, in the afternoon.
I walked in to 15 ewes at 100 yards in the timber and was praying the rams had joined them. Single file they trotted past my gun barrel. Nothing.20210915_164541.jpg20210915_164808.jpg20210915_165021.jpg

Gotta make sure to convey the full effect.

I don't need some of you guys to go the path of a few people I know..." whats taking so long , don't you just go up on the mountain and shoot one?"
For the record I'm loving every single detail of this and am just needing more to feed my obsession. It kills me everytime you leave....

Crap..I haven't eaten much for weeks.
Let's get this moving along. I will strive to wrap this up before the gun opener.
So the season is in motion and the rams have flaked out. Tested the waters in a few new places, but also going back to where I've seen the most rams.IMG_0232.JPEGIMG_0231.JPEG20210921_162450.jpg

Beer thirty.
Just messaged a fellow Montanan who gets it. Do I cook dinner or continue with the story?
If it is who I think you are talking to.... depends what the beverage is. Green cans?
