Hello all. Has anyone used the Federal 12 gauge 3” TSS shell successfully? I have a tag on the Kaibab plateau this spring and was looking to grab a few boxes but wanted to know for sure if thier worth it before I drop $80 for 5 shells! I have a 22” bbl using the Carlsons Bone Collector Turkey choke. Looking at 50yds and in.

TSS won’t make them any more dead than copper plated lead.
Try Winchester Long Beard XR. With a good choke you can drop birds out to 50 with ease. And a box of 10 shells won’t cost you an arm.

My dad killed a bird at 50 yards stone dead with that TSS load this spring. I then killed a bird next to that one with longbeard XR, also at 50 yards. Key to both is a scope or reddot to center your pattern.

Awesome thanks guys. I’ll go the cheaper route I’ll still grab a box of the TSS. Last time I went to SW in Flagstaff, they were giving out 1 box of lead free ammo to tag holders for the plateau GMU’s. It’s only 5 shells, but it’s free and at least I’ll see how it does from my setup.
