Sold the TJ before leaving Arizona.

Bought the 2023 Rubicon on 35s with a 2.5” lift.

I prefer the lack of tech in the TJ but man the new one goes places and unlike the TJ isn’t totally miserable on pavement.
My wife does drive it to Billings once a week
It’ll be a dedicated hunting rig after not too long

Xtreme Recon package makes sense.

I posted these in my Carcaine thread in the hunting rig forum. My XJ was way, way over the top, but I loved it and really miss it and where it could take me. I sold it to build a Chevelle for my mom when she got sick, so no regerts. My uncle recently passed, and if all goes to plan I will be the custodian of his '94 YJ that he bought new. I'm looking forward to being back in the Jeep saddle again, my Power Wagon on 35s is nearly unstoppable, but there is nothing like a nimble Jeep in low range.

Cherokee on the cover of JP, it was first featured inside Petersen's Four Wheel and Offroad.

Putting in work on my first deer, yeah I'm a late onset hunter.

Hot Dog, I believe. Not my jeep, but one we saw in Moab while wheeling one spring break. I think it belonged to John Cappa, of Jp Magazine. 1973 J-2000 on 49" Swampers.1929303_512617872963_4622_n.jpg

I ended up with a Jeep Gladiator from the rental co as they were all out of 4 WD pickups.
Cramped quarters. Driving into a 20 mph headwind on the prairie, the V6 was screaming at 3500
rpm cuz it couldn't hold high gear at 75 mph. Blown around the highway, it was driving a tin can.
I can;t believe they are able to sell them at any volume to the public. I'd take a mini pickup
any time over that.

Those 3.5 v6 are pieces of shit. We used to have a ‘15 wrangler with one.

The ‘23 wrangler we have has the turbo 4 cylinder paired with an 8 speed. Such an improvement.

I agree.
Jeeps drive like shit on the highway. I say quite often to my wife that "this thing drives just like my old 1970 Chevy pickup. I can't believe they sell so many to the general public." Ours is a 2015 but we bought it like new with 20 some thousand miles on it. It now has 80 something on it. When we bought it 200 miles from home, I was halfway home before I got up to 80 mph and I have been driving junk all my life.

I have never been in the new one so don't know if it is any better. To me they are a toy and, on the highway, I would rather be driving a 200,000-mile pickup. Under 50 mph they are fun.
