Driving down the road this morning I noticed a nest that appeared to have something in it. Thinking raptor, I stopped to take a look.

The culprit ducked down low, but here is the raptor ( ) :D .

The damn Canadas(ians) are taking over northern MT. :D

I didn't realize that geese would nest so high up. That should make it an interesting first trip to the water for the little goslings.

They are setting themselves up for becoming a food supply when the raptors come home.. :)

We have a couple of rator nests that are used by geese down along the chain lakes. Geese nest in them every year without being eaten.

I've seen them use old raptor nests on cliffs before. In fact, I saw a goose perched on top of a 50' cliff last weekend, but didn't stop to see if it was nesting.
