Interesting article on Ethics!

I was wondering what you fellow Hunt Talkers thought about this article.

I don't see too many ethics situations posed in the article. "Moody said the sportsman's code mandates that hunters don't shoot game in their reproductive season. "It's just one of those things you don't do," he said.
First off as we've mentioned before on here, we shoot does and cows that are pregnant all the time. Reduction of an animal whether pregnant or not is reduction. You can't get teary eyed in wildlife management.

"But Moody said killing bison that stray outside a containment area is more akin to vermin control than fair-chase hunting in which hunters pursue free-roaming game animals.

Secondly hunting YNP bison is not like pursuing elk or deer. You find them, you might have to sneak a bit and then you shoot them. It's not like they have the fear of man in them (yet) like hunting other species. So his comment on how it was going to be just shooting and unsportsmanlike is off base in that regard. I do think you might have to be careful during this culling because you can bet you'll have the buffalo nation videoing your every move. So I guess I agree you can't have knuckle heads out there wounding things. Bad PR.

Anyway those are some of my thoughts.
