PANDANCER'S SIR MATT, affectionately known as Matt. Friend and companion through everything that has gone on for the last fifteen years. The only dog I've known who would go out to flush quail and wind up with deer or elk. A true hunter.

Many of you have met him and everyone loved him. He will be sorely missed.

:(

My heart goes out to you Dan. You can always count on your four legged buddies. Let me share: Couple days ago I fixed pancakes for breakfast and always do extra for our dogs. I was passing them out when the yougest took one in her mouth and delivered it to the eldest who was sleeping under the DR table then returned for one of her own. I was nearly floored. Find peace and comfort partner in the good times you shared.

So sorry for your loss Danr, its sad that we get so attached to our pets and their life span is so short,I`ve had pets that were more "loyal" than some humans. Once again sorry. :(

Dan, itt is with great regret I read about the passing of Matt. He was truly a special dog and a good friend to you. The two of you were so very close and I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet Matt. Here is a small poem for you in memory of Matt.

Forever in our Hearts

If you've ever known the joyful sound
Of barks that fill the air-
A sloppy kiss, a friendly paw,
A quiet adoring stare-
If you've ever had a special friend
To share a tear or two,
Or maybe just a wagging tail
To lift you when you're blue-
If you've ever felt the wrenching pain
That only death can send,
Then you have lost
Not just a dog-
You've truly lost a friend.
But God is good and treasures love
And there at Heaven's gate-
A sloppy kiss, a joyful bark-
Your precious friend awaits

Dan,
So sorry to hear this, he a such a good dog, he will surely be missed :(

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my ol' pal nearly 3 years ago, and though I have found a new four-footed friend, Sable can never take Mick's place. Mick was one of a kind...and a one person dog. At the time of losing him, I posted his picture on one of my sites with a eulogy. That may sound a bit strange, but just one look and you can tell he was special. Check out: Ol' Mick, a man's best friend

As I said, Sable is a very smart dog and almost too sweet in temperament. Mick doubled as a guard dog. I never had to worry about anything disappearing when he was on the prowl. Sable would sell her soul for a treat or a pat on the head.

Sorry about your buddy there danr...I've felt your pain on a couple of occassions and its not one thats easy to get over :( My last Chessie had been my huntin' pard for nearly 12 years and he now overlooks one of the canyons I deer hunt each Fall.

DANR, .....sorry to hear that. our golden retriever died about a month ago...the family took it so bad i went out and got a english springer in hopes that it would make things a lil better on evryone....it did wonders. good luck friend.,.....JB

Thanks everyone for your expressions of sympathy. It is appreciated.

JB, Goldens are great dogs and wonderful companions, but I believe you will find the Springer to be just as wonderful. I don't think I'll get another dog, but if I did, it would be another Springer..
