I've wanted to post on here to honor my dad and best friend. He's is the one who taught me not just how to hunt and fish but to do these most enjoyable things while being the most honorable sportsman I can be. He lost his battle with cancer a few days ago, and though it doesn't seem all that real still, I'm sure it will here in a few weeks when I'm chasing thunder chickens without him. I will continue to hunt and fish for it what we were both most passionate about, but in his honor I promise dad to get more people out in the woods like you did. The greatest thing you taught me about the great outdoors is there is nothing more enjoyable than watching someone else learn to love it just as much.

Sorry to hear about your dad. They are some of life's greatest friends and teachers. Lucky to still have mine.

Good meaningful post. The pictures tell a great story of an adventurous life. I miss my Dad too for basically the same reasons as you. My Dad died before my son was born and my son is almost 27. I still miss Dad but you just kind of get used to missing them. I wish Dad could have got to hunt with Justin.

I'm sorry you lost your father. Mine passed 20 years ago after his own battle with cancer. He was 59. I miss him just as much today as I did the day he passed. I am forever grateful for the many things he did for me, taught me, and for the example he set. He feels especially close when I am out on the water or in the hills he introduced me to. Perhaps it will be the same for you.

God bless.
