Ideas needed for Youth Outdoor Activity Day

As a middle school PE teacher in a public school, I would recommend getting those fliers to the teacher that is teaching Lifetime Sports classes in each of your schools. He/she is usually passionate about that area of the Physical Education curriculum and Outdoor Recreation activities are a large part of what they teach. You might even find that they would be willing to give up a Saturday to help you in the planning and execution of several of your activities.

Grandsons go to outdoor/survival camps every summer and seem to be interested in building emergency shelters.
Their gram and I always have to climb the hill above our cabin to grade them on what they have learned and built. They are very well versed in building shelters for all seasons and I am always impressed that they have been taught to build a fire out of not much for heat. You never know when you are going to be caught outside for whatever reason.
