Ideas for a new bow

I broke my bow elk hunting! See story under elk hunting.

I'm on a budget and have found two bows that perform well and are $400. The High Country Brute Force and Martin Phantom Magnum. Anyone have any feedback on these or another in that price range?

I don't know about the Phantom in particular, but I LOVE Martin bows. For their price I think they are great. I shoot an older model Cougar Magnum and love it! One of the sporting goods stores in IN sold both Martin and Matthews and they have a couple of used Matthews that people have traded in on Martins. Just my $.02.

Hey T,

I can't say about the force but I like the HCA bows real well. I am shooting an excalibur and have had no problems with it untill today. I was shooting and it started making a lot of noise, but my buddy is comming over in the morning to help me fix that.

I really love HCA i just starte bow hunting jan this year. I have already killed my deer foe this year. It has performed unbelievably thorugh any kind of weather. and you knwo wha kind of weather we get here in Idaho
