Not just a ram stolen from future potential tag holders, but a colossal waste of the IDFG's funding. I doubt the fines cover the cost of the investigation.

I've seen this. I provided cell phone video evidence in case a couple of years ago. The video showed the faces and vehicle plates of someone loading an illegal buck into their truck.The fact the first ram still hasn’t been brought forward is crazy to me. They obviously know what happened to it
as for fines, judges and prosecutors often dont take wildlife crime very serious even when given a slam dunk case. Additionally there was proposed legislation in Idaho a few years ago that would have raised the reimbursement value of wildlife. It died mainly due to some politics at that time with word it would come back during the next legislative session and yet it still never has. There was some amazing testimony about it, including one legislator saying if they raised fines their constitutes wouldn’t be able to afford to pay them.
