Nice job! Interesting buck with the left side/ right side difference. Are those onions on the ground around it?
My guess would be arrowleaf balsalmroot...and grass.

Yep I'd agree, or could possibly be mule's ear (Wyethia).
Possible, but I've never seen big bunches of that (kinda like you can see in the pic), just scattered individuals.
I so miss working in that kind of country...
