A good friend of mine was luck enough to draw a goat tag in Idaho this year. Lucky for him our elk hunting partner KP knows the area he drew well from drawing the tag a few years back and was able to head up in the high mountains to help him find this Billy.
KP's story:
After the long week in New Mexico, this weekend was another success with the find of this nice Billy. We got him late Sunday afternoon and had to pack him out yesterday. We hunted for around a total of 10 days and probably saw around 20 goats, most of which were nannies and small billys. We finally found this guy sitting by himself in a trench that he dug out relaxing in the sun.
There were no rock cliffs and fairly easy access. We watched the guy for about 40 minutes from two hundred yards before we let him stand up for the last time.

Great looking goat. Congratulations!

I would love to get drawn for one of those someday. Maybe I need to hang around Mtmiller and Axl more. It seems they never have trouble getting goat tags:D

That's a gorgeous looking Billy, congrats to your friend.

that last pic is of different goats. looks like a nanny and kid up on the ridge.
