Idaho bill HB174 died :

I didn't have time to read the entire bill and try to make sense of it all, and what it REALLY is intending to change...BUT, just this part is enough to make my wanna puke:

SECTION 1. That Section 25-3701, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:

25-3701. DOMESTIC CERVIDAE FARMING DEEMED AGRICULTURAL PURSUIT. It shall be lawful for any person, association or corporation to breed, own or control domestic cervidae, which are defined as fallow deer (dama dama), mule deer(odocoileus hemionus), white-tailed deer (odocoileus virginianus), moose (alces alces), elk (cervus elaphus) or reindeer (rangifer tarandus), but shall not include red deer (urasian cervidae) or any subspecies or hybrids thereof, and hold such animal in captivity for breeding or other useful purposes on domestic cervidae farms or ranches, provided the premises have been registered with the division of animal industries.

It sounds as if the bill was attempting to take control away from the Idaho Fish & Game, and giving control of "domesticated" wild game animals to the department of agriculture. (?) Bad bad deal if that is what they are trying to do. I am glad (but surprised) that the bill didn't pass.

Thanks goodness.
Anyone heard of CWD?
How bout being charged with a felony if you shot one their escaped critters?
Now we just need to make sure SB 1171 does NOT happen.
WD

Didn't Idaho vote to ban game farms a year or two ago, or was that maybe just an IDFG questionare that was asking peoples opinions of them?
