We're still in the process of dealing with my parent's stuff as we are most likely selling our place and moving to town. My wife came across a box of dishes with some cool newspaper packing from 1975. Advanced ticket prices ranged from 3.50 for Skynerd to 10.00 for Elton John.

In today’s dollar, $3.50 would be $19.82. I don’t think there is a national act worth seeing that you could get admission to for $20 today.

Music now though is better, there is lights and stuff. It’s totally worth spending 1088.00 of my 26k yearly starbucks income to go see Taylor.

Interesting that on our Friday music threads don't recall much if any Taylor. Listed to a podcast on the resurgence of vinyl, though, and apparently 1/5 of the new pressings are TS.

I've tried to explain to my kids what it was like to drop $12 to see any classic rock band out there back in the day.

I can’t say much about times prior to 1975 (was born) but I feel I can say that dishes wrapped in newspapers from after about 1999 probably won’t be the source of much wistful nostalgia in the coming decades.

Kinda funny timing. We're watching the old Doors movie with Val Killer now. Early in the movie it showed a bunch of marquis with a bunch of the old groups. I mentioned to the boss that we were lucky to have grown up in the 60's and 70's. From what I remember, we had a lot of fun. We saw Credence, Sly, Santana, Tower of Power all at high school dances!
