The wind has been keeping the water open. The extended forecast is not looking good for making ice here. But I’m ready to get out.

I'm hoping a few higher lakes here will freeze in the next week or so, I have the itch pretty bad

Not yet. I still need to see if I can find a deer or elk to shoot. My recreation ADD has really kicked in and I might cave to ice fishing or skiing sooner than later.

100' off the bank at G-Town the ice reports are saying around 6". Word is get past that and the ice thins out quickly. I'd keep the machines off the ice for bit longer. Typically early season is my favorite time I may get the itch.

Couldn’t have not caught fish today if you tried. Super aggressive four hours and a limit of pike and a walleye. Didn’t even hit prime time today

Getting locked up here in WI. Some small lakes up north have guys getting panfish on them already.

We were out Sunday, it was a little slow but we caught enough for the smoker.
