If you want a true age a tooth needs to be aged by slicing and counting the age rings. I've done it myself but it takes time. There will be light and dark rings and I believe you can tell by the width of the ring how hard of a winter or the type of spring the der had. The one deer I aged this way was a 9 1/2 year old doe. You need a Jewlers loop or a microscope to even see the rings.
 
That is one heck of a buck! Looks near perfect with regard to symmetry too. Congrats!
