Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

I remember when:

I never had years with elk tags when I should have but definitely wish I had a couple times for deer
I have a very specific painful memory of popping a doe because it was Thanksgiving weekend and still had a deer tag - just to watch a 160"+ buck stand up in the brush.

No 2nd tag. Painful. Very, very painful.

I remember hand marking and stamping 6-10 copies of construction submittals. Then driving like heck for USPS, FedX or UPS depending on what time it was so you could still get them on the outgoing mail to the architect. There was no overnight delivery and no email!

Our high school had an outside smoking area for students and teachers to use.
$0.39 / gal gasoline, drive around all night on $5-10.00 and everything got sh#tty mileage.
Sold racoon pelts for $35.
The Baker climbing tree stand / death trap.
Unless you were a military vet and got one overseas, tattoos were considered trashy.
Couldn't wear tennis shoes to school, they were for gym class only.

Seems crazy, but I remember being a teenager, in New York, and never having seen a wild turkey. I think I was 18 the first time I saw one.

I remember telling the operator who you wanted to talk to.
The town 10 miles away was a long distance call.
TV repair man.
Showing your friends and teachers your new gun at school.
The back seat of a car was roomy.
Picking up an elk archery tag on the way to an archery deer hunt.

I could go on for hours but there isn't enough INK...
