Tip of the iceberg I'm guessing. I hope I'm wrong.I work in collections and we are starting to see the wreckage pile up. Likely going to get worse before it gets better. Hoping things turn around soon.

Not to trash Boulder, but the fact that a town with a population of just over 100,000 has 800 government employees to furlough in the first place is a problem in and of itself.city of boulder has laid off hundreds of employees from what i've heard. i think over 800 were put on indefinite furlough.

Which dope joint did they attend before banning nukes? smhno argument there
i'm pretty sure they have - or perhaps at this point, had - a salaried employee whose sole job function is to advocate for prairie dogs
did you know the city council has a ratified ordinance banning nuclear weapons? i've always wondered how long they spent kumbaya'ing that in committee. good work team

Disagreeing with an area's politics doesn't equate to not caring if people have jobs and a means to feed their families. I care about the livelihood and prosperity of those in bolder as equally as I do about the people of Douglas countylocal government too. not that the crowd on hunt talk give a crap about Boulder, but city of boulder has laid off hundreds of employees from what i've heard. i think over 800 were put on indefinite furlough.
There are so many stupid ordinances in cities across the US I would actually consider banning nukes one of the better ones.Which dope joint did they attend before banning nukes? smh
Absolutely no doubt common sense is awry in Jawja....There are so many stupid ordinances in cities across the US I would actually consider banning nukes one of the better ones.
We use an app called door dash here...and tip the delivery people well. A young delivery gal almost cried the other evening. I asked her what the usual gratuity was and she replied she was barely breaking even with her fuel expense. I'd bet the good folks here are generous.

i totally agree. shouldn't have worded it that way. boulder always stirs emotions it seems, and was more trying to say, "even if you hate boulder, realize boulder employees have lost jobs by the hundreds."
Yes, I am aware and am watching for when they jack menu pricing....so far so good thus the generous gratuityBe careful with door dash and other apps like that. Grubhub is a big one around here. They raise the menu prices without telling you, and often times the restaurants don't even agree to be part of the service. Not to mention the delivery fee they tack on which the driver gets none of. We had a local restaurant in my area who had a delivery driver show up to pick up an order for Grubhub, problem was the restaurant didn't even participate in Grubhub and the items the person ordered were not available during lunch hours. Turns out that pretty much anyone with a copy of the menu can enroll a restaurant in these services without consent or knowledge of the business. Someone simply calls in an order as if they were a regular customer and the driver gets a debit card to pay for it at the register.
I used it once or twice when the lockdowns first started, but quickly realized how badly I was being gouged on the price. Never again.
I would do the same, but in Colorado it is not just a fine, many have had food and liquor licenses suspended and some may never get them back.My wife works at the restaraunt in town the owner is staying open against the mandate say if he closes up again he will be under. So hes going to pay whatever the fine is in order to stay a float. Sad what they are going through. Hasn't been enough business for the wife to work since this all started
Local restaurants are struggling so we are going to fire gov't employees because they need to feel the pain, and meanwhile Apple whose stock is soaring doesn't pay taxes...Also, and it's ridiculous that you have to explain this grownups, but even Gov't employees pay taxes. So there's even less tax revenue now, for socialist things like streets, snowplows, cops, etc.
Well, if we fire the mofo's who work for the gubmint, they won't be able to take their taxpayer funded incomes and go eat out. Oh wait.....Local restaurants are struggling so we are going to fire gov't employees because they need to feel the pain, and mean while Apple whose stock is soaring doesn't pay taxes...
