Hello everyone,
I introduced myself and my Whippet over in the new members section, but I thought I would also introduce my Whippet Dusty here.
Dusty is a Fawn colored Whippet, just shy of five years old.
Together we hunt both Cottontail and Jackrabbits, Dusty running them down and making the kill. Our primary haunts are the Mojave desert, but we range into the Central Valley, the Sierras and some of the rural So-cal areas.
Besides the spectacle of watching a Whippet do its thing, using a sight hound is also "Lead Free" and "No Firearms" area friendly. I can hunt areas I could not any other way.
One other benefit of a dog that takes rabbits is it can feed itself!
Note: the small red pouch on her collar holds a radio tracker. In one picture you can see the antenna, a bit out of the normal location.
Cheers,
Mark & Dusty
