Hunting Deer in Colorado

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. Right now I have an either sex deer tag for Jefferson County in Unit 38. Most of the unit is private land. I have done a bunch of scouting in Ralston SWA and Golden Gate State Park. Seen some deer, but have not had a chance to shot at one. Was looking for any additional help for this area. Thanks!

It’s been a bit rough since they changed the dates. Tour going to have to get away from the pressure. Hunters and hikers. Doesn’t mean far but some of the more dense timber. There are a few good vantage points but you’ll likely want to hike in and be deep before sunrise. I had a cow elk tag a few years back and saw a fair amount of deer. They are good at avoiding pressure though. It was fun to watch them skirt hunters within a hundred yards while I processed out my cow.

No worries. Going out again this weekend to see what I can find. It seems most of the deer are hanging around 8,400 feet. Thanks!
