I'm trying to figure out why my 7mm-08 in the same wood stock with the same rings and scope, weighs 6 lbs. 12 oz. I'm missing something here.
If yours a 16” barrel?I'm trying to figure out why my 7mm-08 in the same wood stock with the same rings and scope, weighs 6 lbs. 12 oz. I'm missing something here.
No. 20", which should account for no more than 4 oz. of the difference. After working down my wood stock, the combo still weighs 6 lbs. 9 oz. with the same rings and scope. I'm curious where that 1/4 lb. went!If yours a 16” barrel?
Did you have any issues with the barrel pulling down into the channel when you torqued the front action screw? Curious what torque spec you used. My factory 2nds CF stock will be here tomorrow. I sent the first one back to Brownells. Hopefully this one will be better.Just got the new stock on my wife’s gun. Re-weighed it.

Did you try any more than that? That's pretty light for action screws. Usually they are 40-60 in. lbs. depending on the manufacturer. When I went beyond 25 in the factory CF stock, the barrel came down and touched the stock. I am expecting to have to epoxy bed the one I'm getting tomorrow, for that reason, but I'll try it first to see what happens. At first I thought the action wasn’t going to go into the stock correctly and I had an issue with it sliding into the barrel channel. I chalked and checked and it finally slid in.
I torqued my bolts (front and rear) to 25 in/lb
