HOWA questions here

However, everything that Legacy touches is garbage. It is clear that they are interested in mass producing and marketing these excellent Japanese made 1500 actions to maximize their profits. There is apparently zero quality control going on at Legacy. So, if you are okay with receiving stocks that need work, bottom plastic that has to be thrown in the trash and replaced with aftermarket parts, or if you're okay with feeling like carrying a child's toy around the woods, then all is well.
This really hasn't been my experience at all. My recent purchase, "Legacy" Howa was a well fitted, solid rifle. In fact, it is easily the most accurate rifle I own. The only problem I had was that they put the wrong caliber magazine in the box, a problem they fixed right away.

Okay, well "garbage" might have been a little strong, but I still hear about so many that have to be returned or repaired or were shipped wrong. And the $549 Stocky's/LSI CF Stock I bought to go with my Superlite was a joke start to finish. They should be ashamed of charging that much for those and LSI should be ashamed for letting them out the door. The walnut stock I ordered from LSI had good fit and an "okay" finish, but that's not LSI's doings, it's the Turkish company they buy them from. And the overall dimensions and balance were completely wrong for a super lite rifle. Same issue I have with their Hogue rifles. Those stocks are boat anchors that are entirely too large for the actions they put in them.

When I bought my Mini barreled actions from Brownells years ago, I had fits trying to find a decent stock, then I still had to deal with the faulty magazine latches and poor feeding.

It's just apparent to me that LSI is not really in the gun business but rather the sales business. They are lucky to be the distributor for Howa, which makes very good barreled actions. Good enough that some of us are willing to put up with their relationship with LSI.
