How many is TOO many hunters in camp?

Depends on how much Dinty Moore stew you packed in. Almost always had four and that was plenty. Once a group member's friend who was a scout leader begged along accompanied by his Eagle Scout son. They thumped and bumped inside their tent until breakfast was being served before showing themselves, knew absolutely nothing about hunting, and when offered a doe killed by another member of the group they jumped on it and hauled butt back to Denver. Good riddance.

Me + 1 is too many if they are loud and dont know how to shut up. This isn't a camping party! 4 good hunters who are quiet and really want to hunt has worked best for us. If someone kills a elk we can get it out in one trip.

Generally four, but most seven.
Really thinned the crowd when we started making everybody pay their grocery money (non refundable) at least a month prior. And even at that we have most dry goods purchased earlier than that.

if you have two camps going together in one area, then yes four people would be good, but i have one hunting partner, and we get along good, because she married me 21 years ago,and she is my hunting partner,so i have the best of both worlds, but 3 is a crowd, especially if you have a women in camp, because they needs privacy every now and then,so 4 ia a crowd.
now 6 would be better if you want or need to go on a drive, say for moving the elk out of there hiding places and into an area wear they are accessable to say your hunting group,so yes big hunting groups come in handy sometimes.:rolleyes:
