300 is still a long shot good on you for practicing it and learning the wind.
Honestly to 300 use an app and do your best to judge wind.
After 300 you should probably get a kestrel and input your rifle data. I still double check the kestrel with an app because I've been known to screw things up occasionally.
On my rifle at 500 the difference between a 10 and 15 mph wind is 7" also the difference between a barometer of 27.5 or 32 is 7". So if I miss judge the wind by 5mph and don't know the temperature and barometer I could be 14" off horizontally or I could be dead nuts on if they cancel out. That's without buck feaver
