Hot on the Trail - Montana program .....

Give them $$$....
I would have to draw the line on that.
I will as an upstanding sportsman, do what I see as my duty and I will help law enforcement when I can.
But their belief system is way to foreign for my taste. I had enough of their “types” when I lived in Washington. Their motives are all honorable, but they make way to many decisions with their hearts and not with their heads.
We all may have some things in common, like eating and sleeping, but I will do nothing to help this type of organization, as they would have nothing to do with helping me rape and plunder our natural resources for personal profit. ;) :)

Hangar, "Why did YOU make the assumption that snowmobilers would not report illegal activity" I didn't make that assumption. AK and ringer seemed to think the original post was a joke, so I asked them if they would report illegal OHV users.

"Am I correct?" No

"Is this clear?" Not Really. I can't find where I made the assumption that snowmobilers wouldn't report illegal activity. Could you quote me?

AK and ringer, Could you guys please explain what's wrong with helping law enforcement officials monitor and stop off -road outlaws? Isn't that what you're always saying should be done---punish the offenders, not the innocent users? Would you report illegal users of off road motorized vehicles? What, precisely, is wrong with documenting and reporting illegal use of OHVs?
I guess you explained why you felt the need to ask. Personally, I would not ask a smartassed hunter if he would report illegal activity, because I would simply assume they would. I would not question their character until they made a remark that warranted it. AK & Ringer's remarks had nothing to do with illegal activity. I am guessing the remarks had more to do with the overall nature of the Sierra Club, which is a steaming pile of crap.

As for the former Marine the article is about. Good for him. He is doing what he thinks is right, and so am I. Let's see an article about an advocate that is working on cutting through some of the bullshit.

Well, Hangar, since you were so insistent about me answering your questions, how about answering mine?

"Could you quote me?"

You said, "Let's see an article about an advocate that is working on cutting through some of the bullshit."

Good idea. Since it's your idea, I hope you don't expect me to do the research to find one.

I can't find where I made the assumption that snowmobilers wouldn't report illegal activity. Could you quote me?

No Ithaca I cannot quote you. I thought I basically answered this question in the previous post. Sorry if I was not more clear and specific, and did not address your question directly. And no I do not expect, and have never expected, you or anyone to conduct research on my behalf. "Let's see an article about an advocate that is working on cutting through some of the bullshit." is directed at the media, since they actually write articles.
