i am not familiar with that particular press but if its a single stage press most of them are very similar. get yourself book like lymans reloading handbook (the latest edition you can find. mine is 48th edition and its a few years old).that will show you how to set up your press, what components you need and how to operate it properly.sincle stage presses are pretty basic with few parts to lose.most of the loose parts are caliber specific and will come in a die set.I would think the book you have will give you basic information but may be out dated and not let you get the most out of your load. for the sake of safety while you are learning to load measure everthing length and weights are the biggest mistakes you can make and you work in such small measures that you cant measure by feel.

Jon, Herter's went out of business in the sixties. They used to be one of the largest sporting goods and shooting stores in the country. Even had their own line of rifles and ammunition. I am not sure what this particular press looks like, but others I've seen are simple single stage presses. As for the operation manual, I have not got a clue where you could find one. If you can post a picture of the rig, or give me a call and maybe we can get together and I can come look at it.

Well, right after I posted this, I decided to go check it out and make sure that the info was accurate. Guess what? I just found out that they have a web site.. and that Herter's products are now distributed exclusively by Cabellas.. Check this out.. maybe they can help..
