Headed out to the hunting unit I hunted during archery. Haven’t heard much on the deer, the weather…..hot with a chance of sun burn.

My oldest son is joining on this round, it’s going to be fun.

I hope everyone is enjoying the outdoors and the fall colors. I’ll keep you posted.

Went out for an all day sit Tuesday. Far too early, little warmer than you'd like, etc. Just an excuse to get the gear dusted off and spend some time in the woods alone. Who knows, maybe something might wander by and get shot. (obviously it didn't)

He’s a cool tall buck, my photo taking needs a lot of work. He has a 4-5” cheater on his right side. Small forks though.

I’m headed out again in 12 more days. This warm weather is not my friend. Suppose to snow, 4-5 feet predicted in some of the mountains this weekend, that may be a game changer.

I talked with a couple folks I know that spend a lot of time in the field scouting and hunting. I got some good advice on setting a 2-3 second timer on my iPhone when setup on my spotter with the Ollin phone setup. When taking photos you disturb the spotted on the tripod and well, BigSlick photos. I’m going to try the 2-3 second timer outside at the house and figure out how to show you gents some nice deer.

This works awesome. Once I started with the timer pictures are wayyy better.
Also holding on the screen until the auto focus locks can help in certain situations.
