Help me age this WT deer

Case in point not to steal this thread but age this one? And I know the exact answer from sending in a tooth.
Shanner's post below and having heard the same from others indicates you dont know the exact age from the tooth.
I had three bucks that we marked the teeth with a Sharpie so we wouldn’t get them mixed up. Sent the same deer three different times to the same lab and got three different results.

They eventually refunded us for two of the agings.

He was aged at 3.5 from a tooth I sent in. Here is a pic of him at 2.5. IMG_20240923_100058.jpg

Easy winter good acorn drop and he blew up. Still a super cool buck and happy as heck with him, but was a true boone and crocket buck at 6.5 if I let him go. We assumed 4.5-5.5 by trailcam pics. Didn't realize we had the 2.5yo Pic until after we got the age back.

Yeah, based on that second photo (and assuming he was standing more or less level) I'd have guessed 5.5. His snout is still a little long and usually with older bucks you'll see that rounded, Roman nose. Might also just be a quirk personal to that deer. Great buck, congratulations.

Thank you!!

Another example of size not being representative of age. I never saved teeth off this buck, but this was him in 2013. He was NOT representative of what I would've expected him to be.

Damn it! My need to feel humorous burned me!!!

I have a lot to learn about whitetails. This is a buck we have been following for two years now, and we let him live this year. I am curious how old you think he is.

Only photo I got from 2023 -

For reference 150” deer I killed in 2023 and he aged out at 5.5 years old.
