What in the Tonya Harding?!

Ruger MPR brake. One piece. Not staked.

Torched it.

Can't. Get. It. Off.

Any ideas?

Aluminum jaw inserts for a bench vice are a big help in removing brakes and bird cages. I don't know what they use on the MP 15-22s but it toughest factory installed muzzle device I have ever removed.

Had no problem getting the brake off my MPR… it actually came loose in the box. I took that barrel off and replaced it with a 6.5 Grendel as soon as I got it. Glad you got yours off 💪 I would have suggested a dead blow hammer and a cheater bar to keep tension on it between blows

Do companies put some thread lock on them or was it just carbon build up that did it?

When you do get it off there, put some antisieze on it before reassembling it. Coppers better. Nickles best.

Great to hear! I ran across this a few years ago and ended up doing the same thing after soaking it in liquid wrench for a bit. Probably not the best idea, but the cheater bar worked it's magic.
