Listened to mtn tough podcast with Randy about eating healthy and got to wondering what everyone else does during the work day.

My breakfast yesterday and today.

We do have a cafeteria about 50 yards from my machining cell which is to dang convenient some days to just go grab good hot crap food but I try and avoid that.

for me the first step is just bringing your own food to work, eating out rarely or as a treat. step 1.5 is ensuring it's minimally processed and lacking added sugar.

second step is avoiding the truckloads of donuts found throughout the office.

the third really important item for me is i take 1.5 hour lunch everyday to go to the gym for a bunch of cardio and weights and tack on that extra half hour of work at the end of the day. not realistic for everyone's situation, but i'm mega grateful i'm able to do that with my job.

I've started trying to only eat things I can grow or kill myself. Have started making sourdough at home.

Breakfast: usually a banana and black coffee
Snack: 2 string cheese sticks and 2 pieces of venison jerky
Lunch: usually a salad of some sorts and chicken
Snack: Greek yogurt and granola
Dinner: family meal so pretty random

It's a work in progress but trying to do better.

I also started trying 36-48hr fasting every 3rd week. Has been amazing. I've done 3 36hr fasts and 1 48. After the first 2 36s my "need/desire" for food has really decreased. Tons of water during the day too.

I rarely eat breakfast, sometimes eat lunch and then dinner. The issue is after 7 or 8 pm eating and I refuse to drink water constantly to feel full only to be in the bathroom 30 times a day. Funny thing is, even though I eat less I still don't really loose weight....could be the chips and ice cream and cookies :)

This has been my downfall, I set a hard 730pm no more food. It has really helped me.
With all the kids activities and work and what not most times its after 8 when we eat. Last night it was 9 o'clock. I told myself not to do it, but still did and today I feel fat and full. When I was wrestling in college I never ate 3 hours before bedtime.

Usually I drink like 4 cups of coffee until about 3pm when I split to pick the girls up from school, only eating when my hands get shaky just to make sure I'm not going to pass out with something like a sharp power tool in my hand...it doesn't work though, don't do it...on the days I eat well I feel much better!

Lots of almonds, string cheese, block cheese, venison snack sticks, summer sausage, apples, bananas, pepper slices w/humus, celery w/all natural peanut butter. Wife and I started making sourdough so we’ve been eating a lot of that recently as well. Sourdough seems to be a much better option than store bought bread. Digestibility is much better.

One other thing I do that's helped is because life is life and we do eat out on occasiona out of convenience. I will ask for a box with the meal and take 2/3 to 1/2 the meal and put it in the box right away.

Makes me eat less and makes the cost sting a little easier as I'm getting 2 maybe 3 meals out of 1 😀
