I was looking into hunting the north side of hd 333 for mule deer on the BMA and north side of national forest. I would be more than happy to shoot a doe and would rather shoot one than a small buck. Is the deer population in solid place? Is this going to be a waste of my time and should I focus my attention elsewhere?

It is doable to find a doe to shoot in that area. Mature bucks are rare and basically non existent. There are definitely better and easier areas to hunt though.
Yeah that’s kind of what I figured I’m limited to close to Bozeman and everything seems to be pressured hard or limited deer population with few mature bucks.
