Havalon or Gerber Vitals?

For me it's the Gerber Vital. My buddy has a Havalon and after he saw how easy the blades change on my Vital, he's buying one. Blade changing on his Havalon is downright dangerous with wet hands or a wet pliers. More weight than the Vital as well, and a lot more when you consider how much the pliers/leatherman weighs.

I think an enterprising individual could make a sleeve that slipped over the havalon blade and snapped onto the back end. you could bend it to lift the back end and pull it out. It would cover the blade when you pushed the new blade back on... prolly recover development costs in less than 20 years ;)

I love my havalon but carry two knives with me. One is a sturdy bladed knife for the heavy work and to pry with so I mainly use my havalon for skinning. The blades do break easy on the Havalon if you try to pry with them so that is why I carry the second knife.
