New CVA Accura lr-x. Opens very hard after shooting 100 grains of 777. Is this because it is pushing the primer back?? Using federal 209's. Opens ok with 90 grains.

Is your breach plug finger tight or wrench tight? If it’s all the way in, I would back down to 90 or 95.

Ya know, 100grs is 10 more grs than 90grs! No idea what cartridge your loading for, but I personally have never shot a gun that handled 100 grs of any powder. I may be wrong but sounds to me like god is telling you to back off!

Modern inlines are rated for up to 150 grains of black powder or substitute. I've shot everything from 85gr-150gr with no problem in both break and breach action in lines with zero problems. My current load is 110gr of 777 and have never had a stiff break after. I'd look at you breach first make sure it's sealed and tight and if there's a o ring it's still there and in good order.

If I bought a new muzzleloader that couldn't handle a 100gr load I'd be sending it back pretty quick.

I have one of those and it's rated to 150 grains of triple 7. I always shoot with 150 grains of white hots or tripple 7. I want to say that I felt that when I first shot it too. I suspect that the heat is decreasing tolerances (gun is tight), that would work itself out over time or you have a breech plug that isn't all the way in.
