Hello, Everyone!! Finally decided to join the hunttalk website. Been stalking the forums for a couple years now. lol time to join. I enjoy hunting fishing guns optics etc. In the middle of building a tikka 6.5 ctr 20" barrel with a tbac ultra 7. Hoping to Slap on a vx5hd and call it good. If anyone has any thoughts or direction for optics I am all ears. I currently own leupold and Nightforce. love them both NF is just a little heavy for my current build.

Great to chat with fellow shooters, my recent new rifle is a Winchester extreme SS 300 wsm. Bought it to replace my Ruger sporter 338 wm. But I think that the Ruger has less recoil although I am shooting reloads with 78 grs o f RL19,225 gr bullet. My load for the 300 is 67 grs of IMR 4831,178 gr bullet.My thinking is it has to do with stock weight and design. Which would be the better elk killer?
