Gun safe dehumidifier question

I’ve been using a simple Stack On portable dehumidifier in my gun safe for several years. When charging it yesterday I noticed this yellow residue along the unit. Any idea what it might be or if it means it is time for replacement? Thanks in advance.

That looks like the minerals from hard water that was soaked. My humidifier has the same gunk. IMO, looks like a perfectly working dehumidifier.

Could get a remote read humidstat if you're worried. See what the safe is actually reading when the unit is in there. If it's high you know to replace

If your gonna replace just go with the golden rod imo.
