Hey all, I have 2 close friends of mine who want to go out in 2019 for an archery elk hunt. They whitetail and turkey hunt, but have never been out west or hunted elk moose...
I would say if just bring them with me and hunt state land in Idaho, but I may have shot myself in the foot by telling them about my trips haha. They both agree, sounds awesome, but in a nutshell are looking for something a touch "easier" and maybe a higher chance for success.
They/we aren't looking to shoot a 350" monster, just have a good hunt and hopefully see and hear some elk and with a little luck maybe get a shot oppurtunity. That all being said, I was thinking Colorado, Montana or Wyoming.
Can anyone recommend a good outfitter/guide?
Thanks

Lots of options in mt to go guided for archery, several units cater to the archery hunter and produce some good bulls. A lot depends on the experiece one wants ie stand hunting or calling.

Ctelk, if u want to go to wyoming you can PM me, always willing to help a fellow western NYr. I will say if u don't have preference points your probably SOL unless your willing to buy expensive tag here. Good luck

Definately looking for a calling style hunt. Hunting stands or over water. Ya... kind of forgot about the points. Dumb question.. is it too late to get a point this year and than maybe get points in 2018 too? 2 points probably won't do much. And definately not looking for a 10k hunt

The last day to buy a Wyoming PP for 2018 was 10/31.
