I was a little apprehensive about attending BHA this weekend since I didn't want to miss a good weekend to shoot grouse if the weather was good. Feeling better, last weekend was a great time to be out shooting pics in tremendous conditions. Guess I can now head to MSLA, drink beer and be merry with no guilt.

Thank you for taking the time to share these great pictures.

I find myself having more and more respect for these prairie gladiators. They can thrive in the harshest conditions out there.

Wow, very nice. Tell us a little about the setup for these. (cam, lens, settings.. distance)

Tks

Nikon D7200, 500f4, most shots 15 - 25 yards (too much lens on some birds). Usually shoot wide open, but if I can keep ISO at 160 or lower, I will increase the fstop. Try to keep shutter 1250 or faster.

thanks much....

Awesome Shots! A lot of the leks down south are still covered in snow. We might not get down there till mid April.

You take a lot of awesome photos, but these guys always take the cake for me. What an awe-inspiring critter.

Ever thought of making a trip to shoot blue grouse?
