he California State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers,
hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for
grizzly bears while in the Yosemite and Mammoth areas.

They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on
their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpectedly. They also
advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a grizzly bear.

It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity
and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings.

Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel
fur.

Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper
spray.

LMBO!!! Hmmmmm....can I send someone else there on vacation? I'll supply the bells and pepper spray! Let's see, I have a list of folks right here somewhere....

Flytier wasn't laughing while running through the woods after he had stepped in the black bear poop. :D :D

Acually it was impressive. I didn't know he could run that fast. It could be the reason he stutters now too.

No, really fella's, I was trying to get shot off at a grouse. Besides, that poop was steaming fresh. And the therapist said a few more sessions and the stuttering will go away.

I heard this joke quite a while ago, but it was the Montana Game and Fish. There hasn't been a grizzly in California since 1937, I think. ( I remember seeing an old photo of the guy with the bear.)

Now why don't we re-introduce them here? It could do wonders for the political situation. Let the mountain bikers and Sierra Club folks get muched.... :D

Good post CH and great idea...
I think they need to be reintroduced in the eastern states also. :D :D :D
