Yeti GOBOX Collection

Gratuitous Fish and River Photos

Thank you! Moving out west and want i to get back into fly fishing so some confirmation on rod setup was what I was looking for.
I’m also pretty sure I would catch just as many fish if I limited my fly selection to one or two color combos of buggers, bead head hare’s ears and pheasant tails, pat’s rubber legs, zebra midges, scuds, parachute adams, elk hair caddis, stimulators, and maybe a larger hopper. And a yellow humpy for brookies.

I've found that I find myself collecting different flies too. I'm a sucker for reasonably priced flies.

And while I really only need one fly rod, I collected 3 for 3 purposes. one for dry flies only, One for nymphing, and my new one for streamers. I'm such a sucker lol

Part of me really wants a dedicated 5 weight for big river nymphs and dries so I can use my 6 for streamers more often.
Have you tried a switch rod? For my money, a 10.5-11 foot, stiff, 5 weight switch is the ultimate big river nymphing rig.

Also, great photos. I used to spend all spring and summer fishing, and those pics really stir something. Think I’ll try dragging the kids out into the rain tomorrow and give it a go.

One of the best cheap gear upgrades I’ve made in a long time has been the Colorado pontoon boat. $320 on Amazon and it does very well floating rivers. It’s a game changer for accessing great fishing spots and it fits in the bed of a truck. It will see hunting use this fall too.

They just jacked the prices up on those again on their website. Kicking myself for not getting one years ago. Is the rod in the pictures a Sonic?
