Just Kidding MtMiller *SMILE*

(No pictures from camera's, just blurry ones from Video, sorry).

Sooo.... I'm not a Big duck or Goose eating fan but I love to knock them down. So I embarked on a 831 Mile weekend experience by traveling to Eastern Idaho to Knock some Geese down on opening morn'. The place we got permission was a Stubble field that someone also got permission on. So leaving 3AM from pocatello to get their early I felt wasn't a bad Idea.

We get to the field and start setting up :

After we set up we drove across the field and parked the rigs. We still had ample time to Mess around. As we got back to the blinds we had about 20 mins of dark left we seen 2 other rigs pulling in to the field. We turned on the flashlight just to show we were there and they stopped. Now, We wouldn't have minded sharing the field, but we didn't want to get run over. So the truck stopped for abut 30 seconds and backed out and went to the next field we all had permission on. So All was OK I figured.

So the sun came up :

The moon was still out but the Geese were Flying only 10 mins or so After legal shooting time. I think the Constant Rumble from opening morning shooting from Mud LAke drove the Geese into the air earlier then normal.

The shooting was Good and the birds dropped quick. it didn't take but a few Flights and we had our limits. I don't think the guys in the other field were to happy as the Geese flew over their setup and landed in our laps. Sometimes being in the right place helps I guess ?!?!! they even took some hail mary shots at some that were going over just to have them come over to us.

I almost felt bad ... ;)

Even as we were breaking down the decoys the geese were flying still.... Some even still wanted to land.

So Friday I get there (In Pocatello) and visit with Inlaws and such. I go to bed at a reasonable time, Midnight. 3AM Drive to Hunting area but home by 3ish to take a nap ????? Uhhh no, wife has other plans. I'm baby sitting but can take a nap when she gets back from "SHOPPING". Or I Can't because @6:30PM I need to get Dinner. then visit and then Bro-in-law comes home so The PS2 comes out... Uhhh OHH.. Next thing i know It's 2AM and Vicki Jsut woke up telling me 1.5 Hours of sleep will not be enough..... Little does she know I was on a Hunting HIGH !!!! ;) So later Sunday I did get my 2 hour nap in and last night almost 8 hours sleep. I'm back on Schedule baby !!!

So ... After We pick up the Geese and head out, We head to Mud LAke and Slay a few Ducks.. I didn't do much videotaping but here are some of the Greenwings we got.

5 birds is what we left with, Not bad for a 1.5 hours of hunting rolling into a Area @10AM ;)

That is a big green-wing with the orange feet. ;) Way to slay the geese, any mounting material out of the hunt?

Moosie, hunting, and lack of sleep seems to be a common thing! ;) I remember rolling into Moosies at about 3am with FEW and Jeremy, who cashed out right away. Moosie and I were still up 'chewing the fat' when after two visits from Mrs. Moosie finally coaxed him to be for his 1.5hrs of sleep before heading to Canada! Gotta love it!

This was my last hunt. We were beat to our field, so we set up and ran traffic about a half mile away. Considering we set up in a field where not a single bird had been feeding, we did pretty well.

Me and a couple of honkey-tonks (never mind the kid giving me the bird ;) )

Our take for the day, 14 geese and around 25 ducks. We shot some beautiful woodies and a gorgeous widgeon. Not many greenheads around that morning.
