Year round hunting may be a good idea. It may depend on the area. Idaho Statesman, Idaho bill would create year-round wolf hunting season (Click Here).

I hope this stays quiet. Idaho has done a phenomenal job with the slow crab in the pot method. Compared to other states
who right out of the gates wanted year round seasons, unlimited tags and shoot on sight. ID has quietly inched our way to
multiple tags, long seasons, 5 trapping tags, extra tags on private, etc.

I think the bill has already been put on hold and the legislator is now talking to the dept commission since it’s the commission that sets seasons not the legislature.
I’m not sure what effect this would have since you can already hunt them most of the year anyways, can buy a pile of tags and as stated the area he wants year round seasons is already basically wolf free. It’s probably a good job of posturing though for votes

Our Montana FWP is going to introduce to the commission at their February meeting a proposal to bump the season start date forward 30 days to August 15th instead of September 15th. And add an additional 2 weeks to the trapping season on the back end. They are also going to propose a harvest limit of 10 tags per person. They have already cut the wolf tag price in half for next season. There is hope!
Wildlife management by ballot box or legislation is not right, whether we perceive that it benefits us or doesn’t. We need a consistent message that management should be left to wildlife managers.

Agreed. Too many people voting who have no idea the impact or even results of uncontrolled wolf populations. Best left to the experts.
