And the trucks getting packed. Leaving in a few for tomorrow opener, hope the elk are still where we found them two weeks ago. Nice to only have a 3-4 hour drive for a change!

Best of luck to those still out there 👍🏻

I'm done for the year but I wish everyone luck also. Looks like you're going to be eating good if nothing else. LOL

Good luck! made chili last night, your post reminds me I got distracted and forgot to do the cornbread mix I had bought for this meal.

Best to ya, Marv! Knock some future elk chili, pronto!

Tag chili is for those Corona drinkers... Talkin' sand between my toes, squeezed lime. Living the dream through HT hunts. No tags for me this year so I'm on the sideline cheering for ya!

Well the elk won this year, good thing there’s still some in the freezer yet.

Felt we’d scouted up pretty well 7-8 days before the opener; water, travel routes, and bedding areas BUT it was still getting into the 70s then. Of course two days before the season opened it was snow and 18 degrees. Always were a day behind cutting tracks or so it seemed.

Camp down the road from us got two opening morning; small 5x5 and a 3x4. They were kind of a whacky bunch of neighbors but hey they went home with their ice chests bloody so…

Weather held decent for the final two days of the hunt but that when the four legged hunters showed up.

All in all a good armed camping trip with great food and friends so a win nonetheless. I’ll toss a few pics up in a bit, no hero shots this year.

@nick87 Now trying for this spring. My duck/goose hunting partner had about a 5# tumor taken out of him that kinda put the kibash on our plans. Luckily it was benign and he’s on the mend so hopefully this next season!
