Good/interesting problem to have.

This may sound crazy but turn it back in keep your points and apply for something that you’ll cherish more next year. Your gonna have a great fall without this tag

Yep, sounds crazy. Not a chance I’m turning a glory tag that I drew in the random with 4 points.

This thread is more about realizing how my evolution as a hunter is changing.

I don’t blame you especially with 4 points.

I understand. My favorite hunting partners are my two sons who are now in their early 20s. We still hunt with each other most weekends, schedule dependent.

I won a sheep raffle tag many years ago. My first thought was my boys are going with me. Sons were 11 and 14. School responsibilities let us hunt 3 day weekends, driving 6 hours in the dark both ways to make it happen. I had “helpers” telling me to leave the boys at home and to take my hunt seriously. I’m not friends with two of them who pushed the situation with me.

Boys still say it’s the favorite hunt the three of us have been on together. Lots of physical activity, games by an outfitter, difficulty with success in finding sheep, and sleeping on a cliff after the kill. It wouldn’t have been the same memory for me without them being there.

That's a good story.

Is audio/sound recording prohibited? You could record a verbal hunt journal w play-by-play commentary. Are you personally escorted and monitored by enforcement personnel? I'm the next-to-last guy to question authority (sarcasm emoji) and bend rules, but there are some rather discrete memory aids you can conceal on your person available nowadays.

Bummer that your kids can't go with you, but definitely do a journal, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, it could be real long:)

It only says no phones, pictures or video. But this isn’t one of the kinds of places you bend the rules. I can ask the site manager to se what their take is.
