Leupold BX-4 Rangefinding Binoculars

Giving up tracking??

Illegal here still. Thank God. But I'm sure it's coming. You should hear all the crying about it. StUPid DNr DONt wanT Us to FINd are DEer! I mean after all these years of being shotgun only, we've recently turned it into straight walled rifle and and crossbow during archery. You know cuz deer hunting is too hard. The least we can do is get the drones out. Hopefully soon we can just get thermal optics on the rifle. Maybe then everyone can fill a whitetail tag a little easier...yup, you struck a nerve. Lol
I wouldn’t mind one of those man carrier drones to haul my animals out while we are at it.

Time to call in the drone recovery crew...

I don't know how well they perform in other places, or if it's just the operators, but they are absolutely worthless here in MS. Most of the operators charge $250 to $500 for a "wounded game survey". They'll drop a pin on some things and roll out. The hunter inevitably calls a tracker with a dog after they realize the drone hits were on a sleeping raccoon or a bed where a hog just got up.

I have a relative who's used then twice in a neighboring state. Found his deer in less than 5 minutes, both times. $400 a pop iirc.

I would not recommend calling the cops on your NEIGHBOR over deer hunting.
especially in this specific case.
way too much risk vs the reward.

I have “sanctuaries” on all of my farms. Places that i just dont go and dont let cattle go around deer season as well. It certainly helps to keep the animals around. HOWEVER, the sanctuaries are in place to give me an opportunity at a good buck. After the shot is taken the “sanctuary” title comes down until recovery. As has been said, im sure shed hunting this guys sanctuary turns up lots of dead heads with valiant retrieval stories! 😂

I mean if he's not guilty of anything what's the big deal..
well, whether or not they found proof of a crime, the sanct would be blown out and your neighbor would be mad at you for starters.

Interesting how someone has a deer sanctuary on 40 acres. The deer were disturbed by the shot but the shooter doesn't want to go after it. Second deer you found would be an auto call to game warden for me.

I was thinking about this today. I know of a father amd a son in Wisconsin that bought a 40 in a really heavily hunted area. Like any buck over 1.5 was literally unheard of. They only hunted the very edge during archery and left it alone for gun season. Everyone laughed until a few years in they killed a 3.5 year old buck then a couple years later a 4.5 now a good chuck of that area passes bucks and 3.5 year old bucks are pretty common with an occasional 4 or 5 year old being killed. Never would have thought it would make a difference but it seemed to there. The kid is a hunting influencer now. 🙄

I guess I worded that a bit off.

I was trying to point out having a sanctuary to grow deer, but being afraid to go after a wounded deer, as the shot likely would have likely disturbed deer on such a small plot. At least for the short term. Go, get the deer and get out.

I do like the idea of leaving it alone the rest of the season.

No I get what you were saying. I was just taking a turn into the weeds with a side story. 😉

I've heard good things about an operator around here. His set up easily IDs what the critters is too. Used it find lost dogs as well.
