German Shorthair Pointer input

Great hunting Dogs at least that has been my experience and low maintenance with shorter hair compared to my Britney. But I would buy either of the two breeds but would prefer a GSP again.

I would ask the breeder a lot of questions. Do they fit your hunting style, what are the testing backgrounds? How far do they range?

Pro's- great dogs. They are super motivated and energetic. They love to work.

Cons-Bit bull headed and independent. Got to be consistent on training. They have endless energy so you really need to exercise them daily.
Did the bull headedness ever go away with thorough training?

My girls are getting old Bull headed went away for about a week and then they became classic old dogs who will listen if they want to, or if there is food involved. Good news is we’re only doing 3 miles a day, non hunting days. Not too long ago it was six or they would just f things up around the house. Hunting days they are down to about 15 to 20 miles in their prime they were doing 30 or 35 in hells canyon. So they use to do 5 to 6 times what I would do, now it’s 3 to 4 times.
