This shit is out of control. 3 weeks ago I started getting sore jaws and tooth aches, So a week and a half ago i start getting headaches and my eyes hurt to move. Then this week my lower back is aching and hips hurt so i got into the doc yesterday. He took blood and put me on pills right away. This AM i wake up and start limping around because my right knee is killing me. I get home and the message from the doc is the test results are VERY HIGH this time compared to 2 years ago when i had it. Fugg man, this will be my 3rd bout in 10 years. This time I will be popping pills for a month! I hope they get that vaccine done or i will be crippled up by the time I am 45:eek:
If any of you are having hip pain, knee pain, headaches... whatever, just go and read all the symptoms on the web and find that they wont go away, demand a Lyme test! this shit can mess you up bad if not treated and masks itself as other illnesses like the flu and arthritis. It can cause permanent heart damage as well.

Take a look at the Rife Machine [google] I have a friend who uses the machine. He had late stage lime and it healed him. Not saying it is for everyone but if you got it bad the cost of a good one is worth it.

Sorry to hear you contracted Lyme disease, Schmalts. I'd be bent too, with a bunch of stuff going haywire before I was 45. I used to be like Dracula... you couldn't kill me off -no matter what. As soon as I turned 55, everything started breaking down and I came down with a rare malady called Angioedema that literally cripples me about every 10 to 15 days for a day or two at a time.
Wasn't trying to steal your thread, but I wanted to let you know that I'm pretty messed up too and in the same boat. I wish us both luck with getting rid of what's kicking the hell out of us. Dave

DAve I will get rid of this, I have 2 times already but I just wanted to let everyone know that they need to be aware of this disease as it is called "the great imitator" and gets mis-diagnosed a lot for other things. I know a lot of the readers here dont live in a Lyme area but some do and need to be aware of it.
I know one guy that needed a pace maker installed from the shit, wicked for some, not so bad for others. It depends on you auto immune system i guess because some guys can fight it off for years while other fall ill real fast.
Not to get into too many details but i have been thinking back and i know i have had this for a better part of at least a month. In thinking back i now realize that for the past month after pokin the old lady my hips hurt for a good solid day.

Schmalts... I got nailed with it last year around this time. Big bullseye rash, fever neck ache, hot cold flashes. The whole nine yards. Felt like I was dying I swear. Went into the doctor and they pumped me full of antibiotics and seemed to work. Now this last month I have not had a good night nights sleep as my damm hands and arms feel like I have hit my funny bone with that burning tingling and aching feeling. Sometimes I can't even make a fist. Heading to the Doc again on Thursday to see if it has come back. Like you said DEMANDING a blood test for it. They try to pass it off as something else for some reason?? Pisses me off. Specially us hunters who are out in the woods, we really got to watch this shit as it is fugged up stuff. Hope ya get better.

Hey schmalts

I'm really sorry to hear that man...

I hope you come out of it sooner than later, after knowing some one a while back that had it, I decided it was some thing important to get out

Thats why there are quite a few articles I've found in the survival section on the subject

This is a malady that can effect any one of us (ceptin for those few who read the board but don't get out much)

Get well soon, I'm rooting for you...

Sorry to hear that. Lyme's is pretty prevelent here too. Hope you get better in time for your hunts this fall.

As Bambistew said lime's is bad here. I have home owners paying me to shoot [bow only] deer in there back yards because of so many people getting it and pets also.

That would suck anytime but especially with a good AZ tag sitting in your pocket. Schmalts what do they give you to treat the symptoms (not cure the disease)? Sounds like it fuggs you up from head to toe....but at least the ol' lady will be getting some rest ;)

For pain I take Celebrex. For treatment I am on a month long regiment of Doxicycline (SP), a type of antibiotic.
Been taking it for 3 days now so at least the headaches are gone and they eyes are feeling better but this morning the knee was far more painful for some reason but the Celebrex is doing a good job on it. It is good this happened now instead of a month from now when hunting season is nearer.
What was it that T-bone got on his sheep hunt??

Aren't these hiv symtoms?;) Maybe not the sore jaw, but that could have been a contributing factor. :D Now that I think about it, I might have an idea how you got the sore knees as well.

Ahhhh...insult to injury! Thata baby!! :D :D
Hope Greeny didn't take him up on his offer of loaning the cycling shorts...probably a bunch of those little fellas went along for "the ride!" ;)

Aaaahhh... OK...
Anyway Schmalts, thanks for the heads up. The little coastal blacktails we shoot out here are literally filthy CRAWLING with fleas and ticks -at least 100+ fleas and about 50+ ticks per animal- sometimes more.
I used to toss bucks up on my shoulders when I was in my 30s and 40s and haul them out. I would have dozens of fleas and ticks crawling all over me after a pack. Maybe it's a good thing I can't do that anymore.
From now on I'll keep my eyes peeled for those rotten ticks.

Hope you get better fast. Right after they started reporting about Deer Mice carrying that stuff with ticks and all I saw a Mouse crawling in a Bayou, you would have thought I had spotted a cougar! John
