Freezer Fillers

Now that the red deer roar is over its a great time to hunt public land in New Zealand. The number of hunters drops off and the stags are out feeding to put condition back on. On Friday I hunted some nearby public land hoping to see a stag. After 4 hours glassing no stags were found but I did see 3 deer that would nicely fill the freezer.

Type of country hunted - its regenerating farm land.

That is the steepest farmland I have ever seen. Congrats on the freezer fillers!

Very nice!! I am assuming that land was previously cleared and used for grazing?

Yes, that's right 1 pointer. It was cleared probably about 100 years ago but was purchased by the government and now included into a forest park. The tracks and huts are still good to use.
