Free-range Texas Aoudad, Whitetail, Axis, Black Buck, Elk, Sika-Game Pictues

Just wikied Idaho. Idaho has 20.5 million acres of forest service ground and 11.9 million acres of blm. It feels crowded at times.

I'm talking about how everyone should be in awe of 100,000 acre

You obviously haven't been to far West Texas. It is VERY sparsely populated and the land is probably cheaper than about anywhere else in America. Pretty much a vast empty desert. It probably takes 100,000 acres to run even a small cattle operation. Aoudad are about the only creatures that seem to thrive out there.

If I had permission to hunt a 100,000 acre ranch I'd be pretty excited. That's a big chunk of ground, almost twice as big as the Dana Ranch.

So does every citizen of these United States.
You might want to do a little research, about that last statement.
So we should all run to Texas to hunt 4,500 or 100,000 for that matter.

Ignore my point all you want. I have literally spelled it out for you.

WHAT? Who said you should go to Texas?

You haven't '' Spelled out'' anything. You have however shown your knowledge or lack there of regarding Federally owned lands.

HAhahaha!Don't have much against Texans as I roomed with one in the AF for two years and have driven big trucks down there for a lot of years. Have a friend here in Great falls from Texas, actually a couple, that are good folks and one has a bbq buisness that is absolutly killer. All I can say is to hell with the feeders! If I owned that property down there I would be take the effort to put up trail cams on the TRAIL and get some real pics! Don't take offense HCC but show the animals in thier natural state...much better that way and will generate more interest???? Also the guy that owns the bbq place is a great person as is the other one I know here. The roommate was an egotistical ass as were most of the folks folks I have met down there......but the actual ranchers, workers, even mexicans were stand up folk. Just like anywhere else I've been. Till ya get to the city that is. HCC honestly what do ya charge for a three day hog hunt down there? No guide, just point me and let me go........no feeders also. Wanna kill a pig..... bucket list, and where are you from midland?

How by not arguing semantics about funding with you? I considered it to be a level playing field because he also pays for the land I speek of.

Oh and by the way I should add I DESPISE THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS, for reasons I won't disclose but would like to hunt it just once. Pull the trigger and put me out of my misery!!! Hahahaha

''No money required''. doesn't equal semantics.

Never asked for an argument with you, go back and look at my post. I just said YOU might want to research that statement.Never suggested that I'm an authority but I know these land and there Management is not free.

I had no idea there were free range elk in TX, learn something new every day...

I think we all knew I was talking about paying a private land owner with cash or azz kizz. Sorry if I lost you.

It's not always an azz kiss that get's you on private land. Sometimes it's simply a matter of being a respectful and kind human being.

I'm as DIY as anybody one here, and hunt public land the great majority of the time. I see no honor though, in passing up opportunities to hunt private land if and when they present themselves.

YMMV.

I agree.
My comments were to say that 100,000 acre is nothing compared to what's available to everyone in most western states without a fee*
I didn't even want to make a big deal out of my little comment.

*other than taxes

Depending on what 100,000 acres you're referring to, that may or may not be true. I do see your point that 100,000 acres is very small in the grand scheme of things.

I count myself very blessed to have access to all of the public land that the PNW and Northern Rockies offers. Not everyone has that.

JLS True

I'll take his word for it.
