For guys that have drawn Oryx or ibex tags

in New Mexico how many years did you apply before drawing a tag?

Drew Oryx my first try back in '93 or '94, killed a nice cow on the Oscura Range. I believe that it only cost $36.00 back then for residents.

Drew a muzzleloader Ibex tag my 1st and only time applying in '99 or 2000. Didn't kill one but had an awesome hunt.

There's no pref/bonus points in NM, so any year can be your year.

It took me about 5 to get it last year fun hunt would love to do it again. Also one of the best eating.

I have drawn 3 times in 20 years. I figure about every 7 years I am due. It is lot cheaper as a New Mexico resident. Each hunt has been unique. I truly enjoy this hunt.

Mine have all been depradation hunts; have not yet drawn the once in a lifetime tag.
